With it being Christmas Eve and all, over the past few days, I’ve found myself having to make many small appearances at various bars and parties to catch up with old friends. In one night, I could have to stop by four or five different places, so I feel like instead of just dressing for one night out, I am trying to find the perfect outfit for five nights out and nothing tends to be that amazing that I would even want to wear it five times. I want something that doesn’t appear like I am trying too hard, but still shows off my style.
When trying to find something that fit into my guidelines, I popped into AllSaints Spitalfields, a diva-grunge type shop hailing from London, which features an unlimited number of old-school sewing machines decorating the front windows. AllSaints is known for its soft leathers and intricate embellishment on skirts and dresses. Its invasion into America has only just begun, regulated to large cities right now, but they have a great online shop and I have a strong feeling that they will soon be everywhere.
While leafing through the unique garments, I came across this simply stunning blouse. It’s 100% silk, semi-sheer, with a clean design; basically, everything that I was looking for. I also find it very versatile. I can wear it with slacks for a job interview, leather shorts for a wild night out in Miami, or with skinny black jeans for happy hour. Most importantly, this blouse is something that I’d enjoy wearing over and over again.
The only downside to my dream top? It boasted a hefty price tag of nearly $200 (it appears to have now gone on sale for a steal at $122!). Honestly though, based on wearability alone, I have no doubt this top will be its money’s worth.
Get me out of this wet coat and into a dry martini stat,
