Unfortunately, this early winter flu has struck me much more severely than I previously expected.  It is currently 4 a.m. here in Florida and I have been unable to sleep at all tonight due to terrible throat pain and persistent cough.  Today marks one week that this has been going on, so make sure that you protect yourselves out there from the strain this year.  Just when I think that it is ending, I get another unbearable wave of symptoms; I’m starting to feel like I am living out the movie Contagion.

As a form of escapism for my immediate misery, I am currently reminiscing on a recent winter trip to the beach before all this flu drama started.
