So, I have decided that my new years resolution this year is to have no resolution at all. I mean, really, the success rate is ridiculous and I already know that in a week, I will end up feeling depressed and very angry at myself for not sticking with any of them, so instead I resolve to be happy and put no pressure on myself at all (laziness?). I had a wonderful New Years Eve aboard the Catalina Yacht, highlighted by minimal sea-sickness and maximum Veuve Clicquot. Here is a little snapshot of my nautical New Years celebration:
For some reason this year, I just wasn’t in the mood for tons of sparkles, as I always sported in years past; usually, the more sequins, the better! New Years Eve just kind of sneaked up on me and (gasp) I didn’t even get to buy a new dress for the occasion. Instead, I fished this vintage gem out of my closet that I have owned for a few years now and hoped that my new bangs would give it enough of a fresh look. I paired it with my trusty Prada handbag and bright pink lips and voila, problem solved! I actually am now very happy with my choice not to empty my wallet for one night, as I usually do; I think it took some pressure off of an always overrated evening.
I adore a low back; it always makes me feel very Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface (a.k.a. Elvira).
